Dr. Chelsea Boutwell is a new addition to the Gentle Care team. Originally from Mississippi, she began her career as a Certified Veterinary Technologist in 2013 with a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University. She worked as an emergency medicine and critical care technician for a few years before continuing her education at the University of Missouri. After graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, she worked as a small animal veterinarian in Colorado gaining valuable experiences until she decided to relocate to Memphis, TN to be closer to friends and family during the 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Chelsea's interests include small animal preventative care,and dentistry. She also has a passion for pocket pet and reptile husbandry and care. However, her strongest passion is nurturing the human-animal bond through client education and a high standard of care! Some of Chelsea's hobbies include DIY arts and carts, playing cards/board games, spending time with family, and traveling. Chelsea shares her life with her many rescued fur-children including PeeJay (Havanese), Kratos (Cane Corso), Luna (Golden Doodle) and her feline friends Doc, Jafar, Purrkinje, and Aurora! She also has a plethora of exotics including 2 ball pythons, 1 Samaritan short tail, 1 rainbow panther chameleon, and 2 dart frogs! She looks forward to meeting you and your fur-ever friends!
